Long Night in New Orleans ⚜️

This morning we got up bright and early. The couple we were staying with needed to be in Texarkana by 8. They treated us to the only breakfast place in the town of Magnolia, AR. My (Sarah) mother grew up across the street from her when she was younger and Bonnie was very much like a sister to my mother.  They took us to the highway that we needed to get to  New Orleans, LA.

We got on the road and were shortly in Louisiana where the scenery changed. Soon we got to Avery Island where we toured the Tobasco factory. They handed out tiny samples of three tobasco flavors.

After touring the factory, we headed to New Orleans, LA to stay with a new friend. When we got there, we were amazed to see how adorable the area was around the apartment. I (Candace) was excited to see more of New Orleans and its culture.

Our host was more than delighted to show us around New Orleans. We waited in line for a dinner place until we got tired of waiting because at this time it was 9pm on a week day night. Meaning that our options were dwindling. Instead of waiting any longer, we left for another restaurant down the street. There I had fried chicken which was mind blowing fantastic! Sarah had gumbo that tasted amazing.

After dinner, we got a French dessert called beignets with coffee. It was the most delicious pastry ever!

When we got back to the apartment, we were under the assumption that we would be heading to bed. However, that wasn’t the case. We talked for a while and then watched part of a documentary about cooking food. At this point, Sarah and I were so exhausted we were falling asleep on the couch. We finally got to bed around 2am.

Much Love,
